We dodged the rain again for Melissa & Ryan’s wedding last Sunday. Melissa & Ryan travelled to Florida from Massachusetts. She originally wanted a beach wedding, however, after looking at all the options in the area she & Ryan decided to have a Straub Park St Petersburg Wedding Ceremony. Melissa hired me to put a ceremony package together including: a rose petal heart, music, chairs, music and photographer. The wedding was scheduled for 6 PM. The dark rain clouds started coming in about 3pm. I sent Melissa a text at 4:30pm asking her if it was raining in St Petersburg. She said it wasn’t. It had started to down pour in the area where I was coming from and clouds looked pretty threatening all around. When she said it wasn’t raining my husband & I immediately headed out. Sure enough it wasn’t raining in St Pete.
Straub Park is a beautiful location for a wedding. Right near Vinoy Park and the Museum of Fine Arts. Two gorgeous banyan trees are on the lawn area adjacent to the Museum. The lawn area overlooks the north yacht basin. George Sr and I, setup chairs and placed a heart in the grass and started to play music as the guests arrived.

Melissa’s Dad escorted her across the lawn down to Ryan where he was standing in the heart. Ryan had a gift for Melissa’s daughter Kendyll. Ryan was so tearful that he asked me to have him repeat after me as he said his special words to Kendyll: “Kendyll, I love you as if you were my own. I will be the greatest I can be to you and your Mom. I will be loving and honest with you. I promise to support you in every way possible and look after you. Today I not only marry your Mom, but I marry you to.” Kendyll, Melissa & Ryan were all crying. It was so beautiful and loving. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many tears at a wedding. I had them all give a big family hug before continuing on with the ceremony. Ryan put a pretty necklace around Kendyll’s neck.

After the ceremony photos were taken under the beautiful huge banyan trees in the park. Melissa and family all seemed very pleased with ceremony. She sent me the following review that made my Officiant heart so happy:
