A Summer of St George Island Wedding Ceremonies

A Summer of St George Island Wedding Ceremonies

News

Yesterday was the first day of Fall! Happy Fall Ya’ll 🙂  As I look back on my Summer (June 21-September 22) it has truly been a Summer of St George Island Wedding Ceremonies. I’ve had the honor of working with so many amazing couples on their St George Island wedding ceremony plans. I love St. George Island wedding ceremonies because that they are all unique. Everyone seems to put their own spin on their beach wedding plans and I love seeing it all put together. This past summer I’ve officiated ceremonies for same-sex couples, couples with kids, local couples, elopements, and vacationers. I’ve met the most amazing couples; it really has been a fun summer of St George Island wedding ceremonies.

Some of the couples I worked with were vacationing in St George Island and didn’t want to deal with wedding details while on vacation. So to help them I coordinated their wedding plans; arranged photographers, brought cakes, picked-up flowers, coordinated chairs, decorated arbors, and officiated.

Amy & Melanie’s Florida St George Island Wedding Elopement

Amy & Melanie’s Florida St George Island Wedding Elopement

News

Amy and Melanie are an amazing fun loving couple that I had the pleasure of marrying in June. They vacation in St. George Island every year and this year they decided to get legally married!

Amy called me about 2 weeks before the wedding saying, “we might be crazy but we want to get married while on vacation in St. George Island and wondered if I could help them with it.” I explained to them that they were not crazy and in fact last minute St George Island weddings are my specialty 😉

Amy told me that a couple years ago they had had a big commitment ceremony but now that Florida allows same-sex marriages and it is recognized everywhere in the USA they wanted to make it official.  They have 3 beautiful daughters and thought what better way to get legally married than when on vacation with their daughters. So we got to work planning their perfect little St George Island Wedding Elopement Ceremony. Since they didn’t have a lot of time and didn’t want to waste their vacation running around I told them I would put together a Florida St George Island Wedding Elopement package for them. Their package included a photographer, cake, flowers, and officiant (me). I handled all the planning and organizing so they could enjoy.

On June 6, 2015 I drove to the beach house they were renting and we had a beautiful ceremony on the outside porch. Amy, Melanie, and their girls held hands and you could fell the love.

After the ceremony we all walked down to the beach so the photographer, Bill Corbett, could take pictures. It was a beautiful day for a wedding ceremony and pictures.

Bill took a lot of awesome pictures then we were all hot and ready for cake! Everyone gathered around the table while Amy and Melanie cut their first piece of cake as a married couple.

I had the pleasure of officiating Shawna and Cole beautiful St George Island wedding ceremony on June 11, 2015. Shawna and I had been emailing for months getting ready for the big day. They were traveling to St George Island so she wanted to make sure everything was set.

To help with their planning process, I arranged for their photographer, Brett Svenson. He took some amazing pictures which you’ll see throughout this post. Check all of the pictures out here: http://www.svensonimages.com/shawnacolewedding

I drove out to St George Island on the day of the wedding and was ready for a beautiful St George Island wedding ceremony out on the beach. Shawna was a beautiful bride- inside and out. The weather was sunny but I could see dark clouds approaching. Fortunately everyone was on time so we could the ceremony before the rain hit. The ceremony then the reception was underneath one of two houses they rented. They had hired Captain Q’s food truck for reception food!

Friends and family gathered around for the ceremony. Shawna’s Dad walked her down the aisle. Cole’s daughter was the flower girl. Their family friend lead everyone in a prayer and I officiated. It was a very nice beach wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony guests went back to the house for the reception while Shawna and Cole stayed on the picture for pictures. They were able to get some pictures in then the storm hit! It started raining and got very windy but that didn’t stop the newlyweds from having a good time. They ran back to the house, grab some food from the food truck, and mingled with guests.

Rain and wind didn't stop this bride from enjoying her wedding reception!

The rain lasted about an hour and fortunately when it was over there was still enough light for them to get more pictures!

Despite the rain and wind, Brett Svenson, was still able capture their love.
