Small and Beautiful Tallahassee Weddings

Small and Beautiful Tallahassee Weddings

News

Your wedding is YOUR day! We encourage you to do what you and your fiance want. So many times couples get caught up in what others want and “keeping up with the Jones” that they lose track of what brought them to the wedding. On October 25, 2014, I had the privilege of officiating two small and beautiful Tallahassee weddings.

Leann and Joseph got married at the Piney Z Lodge which is part of the Piney Z community center. There was nice outside green grassy space where the ceremony was held. The inside Lodge had plenty of space for tables, buffet, and dance floor. Leann and Joseph had friends and family helping them put everything together. It was very nice. They had special message next to a picture of Joseph’s mother whom died from breast cancer a few years ago. All the groomsmen wore pink ribbons in her honor. It was very touching. The weather was perfect for their outside Tallahassee wedding and I really enjoyed being a part of their special day.

Later that day I had the real pleasure of officiating Robin and John’s Tallahassee wedding. Robin and John had been together for over 20 years and finally decided they wanted to get married. They live in South Florida and traveled to Tallahassee for the wedding because John’s family lives in Tallahassee. The wedding was held at John’s sister’s house off Ansel Ferrel Rd. About 15-20 friends and family were gathered to witness the joyous occasion. John and Robin were so cute! When I arrived and met Robin in the bedroom she told me they had memorized all the vows; including the “repeat after officiant” parts! They were so excited and so in love. The ceremony was held outside in the grass. White chairs were lined up and under neath a beautiful tree. John and Robin impressed me by saying the vows that are typically repeated. After the ceremony Robin’s mother told me, “I never thought I’d see this day. I am so happy.” Tables were setup outside to have a lovely reception and celebration. It was truly an honor to be a part of their small and beautiful Tallahassee weddings.

So please remember as you plan your wedding ceremony it can be any size, shape, color you want. Have fun with your day! These are just a few examples of small and beautiful Tallahassee weddings I have been a part of. For more ideas about planning your wedding please contact me!

News

October 18th was a crazy day in Tallahassee because the Florida State Seminoles were playing Notre Dame in Tallahassee. For those of you that know what it’s like to live in a college football town you know this is a BIG deal. So about a month and half before October 18, 2014, I got a message from Ashley asking if there’s ANY WAY I would officiate her October 18th wedding at The Retreat at Bradley’s Pond in Tallahassee, FL. The person she originally had asked to officiate her wedding just backed out on her so she was really hoping I would help her out. Fortunately, I was available and I don’t really like football so I was more than happy to officiate their wedding!

Ashley and Seth had wonderful wedding vendors working with them to create a beautiful wedding day. Nate Long with Amplify Entertainment was their DJ, Kate with A Piece of Cake Event Planning was their wedding planner, Piggy’s BBQ was the caterer, and Tallahassee Photo Booth.

Ashley and Seth hired me to serve as their rehearsal director so the day before the wedding I met everyone out at The Retreat at Bradley’s Pond. It was a great rehearsal because Kate (their wedding planner) and I were able to work together to show everyone where and when to walk. We practiced a couple of times and everyone was ready.

On Ashley and Seth’s wedding day the weather was awesome!! The sun was shinning and there was low humidity. Ashley looked beautiful!! Her father walked her down the isle and she wore her veil over her face. They the isle was lined with shepherds hooks and hanging mason chairs filled with flowers. Ashley was very smart and after the ceremony Kate took all the flowers from the outside mason jars and brought them inside to use for the table centerpiece flowers! What a great idea!! Ashley and Seth were a super fun and easy going couple. Their love for each was so apparent and I wish them all the happiness!!

Beautiful Wedding at Dorothy B Oven Park in Tallahassee

Tallahassee has MANY wonderful city parks which allow weddings to be held….typically at a reasonable price. On Saturday October 18, 2014, I was a part of a beautiful wedding at Dorothy B Oven Park in Tallahassee. Damaris and Charles had their wedding ceremony outside under the gazebo. The weather was GORGEOUS! White chairs were lined up in front of the gazebo  for their outdoor ceremony. About 25 family and friends were present for their special day. They were a wonderful loving couple and I truly enjoyed working with them on creating a wedding ceremony that fit them perfectly….which included me ending their ceremony by saying, “I joyfully pronounce you husband and wife. You may now change your Facebook statuses. Charles you may kiss your bride.” Damaris had told me that she and Charles were big social media buffs to they were very excited about doing this. When I made this announcement they grabbed their phones and immediately update their statues. Everyone chuckled…it was pretty great!

Charles and Damaris are a great couple and I wish them MANY years of health and happiness together!!!

On September 7, 2014, I had the privilege of officiating Hollie and Seth’s wedding at Golden Eagle Country Club in Tallahassee, FL. Golden Eagle Country Club is a wonderful venue for a wedding in Tallahassee because it’s full service. Meaning they offer tables, chairs, ceremony setup, linens, catering, bartending, day-of-coordinator, and much more. They offer many wedding packages that are much more cost effective than you would think. If you do have your ceremony at Golden Eagle there’s a beautiful white arch outside overlooking the lake. The arch can be decorated or not…either way it’s pretty. If it does rain on your wedding day and you are unable to have the ceremony outside there are a few cover and inside options that would be lovely for a wedding ceremony.

Hollie and Seth were very excited about getting married. They planned their wedding for about 1.5 years and had all the detailsorganized. The ceremony was outside with white chairs and rose pedals lining the isle. They had beautiful candles hanging from the white arch. It was absolutely gorgeous. During the ceremony they said their own special vows to one and other, and did a sand ceremony.

Hollie’s wore a BEAUTIFUL dress. Her bridesmaids wore long black dresses. Everyone looked wonderful.

Another really neat aspect of Hollie and Seth’s wedding was that Hollie had a broach bouquet. She hired someone online to make it for her and it was gorgeous. It sparkled in the light like nothing I had ever seen!

On the day of Hollie and Seth’s wedding there were some dark clouds and rain sprinkles. BUT fortunately when it was time for the ceremony all was clear and we were able to have everything outside. The ceremony was wonderful and I really enjoyed being a part of their wedding at Golden Eagle Country Club in Tallahassee.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Wagner!

Tallahassee Home Wedding Ceremony

Tallahassee Home Wedding Ceremony

News

On July 12, 2014, I had the honor of marrying Emile and Chyretta. Their wedding was at their home at 11am. The weather was hot and humid, but the rain held off  so the ceremony could be performed as scheduled! Tallahassee home wedding ceremony are some of my favorite, because everyone is casual and just happy to be together. I enjoy all weddings, but it’s exceptionally neat to see what couples can put together at their home to create a beautiful wedding ceremony. You don’t need a lot of money or resources to have a really nice wedding at your house with a few family and friends. I always encourage couples who are considering going down to the Court House to get married to think about doing something small at their house. It’ll be much more comfortable, family and friends can all be their, and it’ll be more memorable and special.

This the home that Emile and Chyretta live in. Check out the sign above front door, “Smile, it Confuses People”. As soon as I arrived and saw that sign, I knew they’d be a great couple to work with!

The morning was a perfect time for a wedding because it was not TOO hot yet! Emile had everything setup in their backyard while Chyretta got ready inside. The ceremony was held under a tent which was under a tree so there was nice shade. One of Chyretta’s sons sat in the front row and held the rings. When it came time for the rings he excitedly stood up and handed them to me.

About 10-12 family and friends attended the ceremony then later in the afternoon they were having a  small reception with food from Publix.

Emile and Chyretta are a perfect example of a happy in love couple who wanted to get married and do a little more than a court house wedding so they put together a small low budget wedding that made them happy. I was honored to be a part of their Tallahassee home wedding ceremony and glad to help make their wedding day special.
