Tallahassee Wedding Ceremony at the Big Bend Girl Scout Camp

Tallahassee Wedding Ceremony at the Big Bend Girl Scout Camp

News

On March 7, 2015 I officiated Brittany and Will’s Tallahassee wedding ceremony at the Big Bend Girl Scout Camp. It was one for the books! It is probably one of the most fun weddings I’ve ever witnessed. They had everything from corn hole to ping pong to a live band!

When Brittany contacted me about officiating their wedding at the Girl Scout Camp I was a bit confused. She explained that they had rented the entire camp ground and everyone was going to stay overnight. FUN!!!

On the day of their wedding the weather was PERFECT for their outdoor Tallahassee wedding ceremony and wedding camping extravaganza. Brittany and her bridesmaids arrived in a mega RV. She was then brought down to the ceremony spot in a golf cart. It was so cute.

The camp ground was cover with games for guests to enjoy: ping pong, ring toss, corn hole, and more. There was a fire pit, a band, monogrammed beer cups, just to name a few.

The ceremony spot was decorated with a white isle runner, chairs, and white clothe drapes. It was beautiful. Being that Brittany and Will are a fun couple their ceremony vows were fun and humorous. Everyone laughed and enjoyed the ceremony.

After the ceremony family and friends were ready to enjoy drinks, food, dancing, games, fire pit, and camping! It was wonderfully planned idea for a wedding ceremony and I am grateful to have been a part of it.

On 12/13/14 (what a great date, right?!), I had the honor of officiating Anyelle and Andrew’s wedding at the Tallahassee Garden Club. The Tallahassee Garden Club is a beautiful historic home located in the heart of midtown Tallahassee. The outdoor area has plenty of space for large and small weddings, as well as, a reception area inside.

Anyelle and Andrews’s wedding ceremony was setup on the side of the house. There were pretty white chairs lined up and an arbor with a decorative clothe background.

Because of the sequential date they wanted to start their ceremony at 4:56pm. This took a little bit of running around on my part (getting guests in their places, passing out bubbles, watching the clock), but we got it down! Anyelle and Andrew have a beautiful boy about 2 years old. As soon as he saw his mom and dad up at the front he ran right to them. Andrew held him in his arms the entire ceremony. It was a very touching way to unite them in marriage and as a family.

After the wedding they had lawn games, cocktails, and music for guests to enjoy. Anyelle and Andrew were a wonderful couple to work with and I truly enjoyed being a part of their wedding at the Tallahassee Garden Club.

After the wedding Anyelle wrote this amazing review of my service. It’s always so nice to hear that my work was appreciated and they enjoyed working with me as much as I did them 🙂

“Amanda was my officiant! She was absolutely wonderful, and I wouldn’t have wanted anything different. She was gracious enough to even grant my request to wear grey, which I wasn’t even sure if it was rude to ask. She was prompt, professional, extremely friendly, and even helped with certain things that she didn’t “need” to on the wedding day. I absolutely recommend her services to anyone.” Anyelle and Andrew.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

News

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

Throughout the country people are encouraged to wear pink to raise awareness about Breast Cancer. I’ve seen football players, celebrities, and friends wearing pink in support of this great cause. This past Saturday the bride, Leanne, at one of the weddings I officiated at The Retreat at Bradley’s Pond in Tallahassee had a small pink ribbon on her bouquet. I thought this was a really nice way to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness month being that her wedding was in October.

What are you doing to show your support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month? What do you think about having pink at your October wedding to show your support?

October Weddings in Tallahassee Florida

On Saturday October 4th, I had the honor of marry Lyndsi and Mike. They were a sweet couple with a beautiful wedding ceremony. October weddings in Tallahassee Florida are some of my favorite (thus why I chose to get married in October) because the weather is gorgeous. And boy was the weather PERFECT for Mike and Lyndsi’s wedding.

Mike and Lyndsi met each other while working at Esposito Lawn and Garden Center in Tallahassee. Because of this they asked me perform a unity tree planting ceremony. I did some research and came up with a beautiful unity tree planting ceremony that Lyndsi and Mike liked. Before the wedding, we met up to go over the final details and put the final touches on their ceremony.

On the day of their wedding family and friends gather outside Shuster’s Cafe in Southwood. Lyndsi’s Dad owns the Shuster’s Cafe so they were able to have a BEAUTIFUL wedding outside on the grass then a reception inside the cafe. As guests arrived a three-piece string band played. Before, during, and after the ceremony a violinist played. The ceremony included the unity tree planting ceremony, a prayer lead by Lyndsi’s Dad, and a moment of recognition for those not physically present at the wedding.

After the wedding Lyndsi and Mike were so happy. They thanked me and said they really appreciated everything I did for them which made me feel really good. I love being a part of weddings where everyone is happy and laid back!
