I recently performed a Celtic Hand Fasting Ceremony Sand Key Park Wedding.  I hadn’t performed a wedding with a Hand Fasting ceremony in awhile so I was excited for the opportunity.

Hand fasting ceremonies can be done in a variety of ways. Typically, as the ceremony is performed expressions of intent are asked to bride and groom. As each expression of intend is recited a binding is placed over their hands. For this ceremony I used red ropes for the binding. Ribbons are also commonly used. The couple starts off with holding hands. One partner with the left hand the other with the right. An expression of intent is recited to each partner such as, “will you share in laughter and look for the brightness and positive in him or her?” When they reply “I will” a binding is done with the ropes over their hands. The binding crosses over their hands and continues with each expression of intent thus binding their hands together.  The couple continues to keep their hands bound as the ceremony continues. When it is time for the ring exchange the binding is then released. The binding is given to the couple at the end of the ceremony for a keepsake souvenir.

The Celtic Hand Fasting Ceremony Sand Key Park Wedding ceremony was at sunset. I sprinkled fresh red rose pedals in the sand and I performed the Celtic hand fasting ceremony binding them together for eternity. The final binding sealed with a kiss. My photographer partner, Megan Pitts, took photos before, after, and during the ceremony.

The couple repeatedly thanked me and were very happy. I really enjoyed working with them to create their special Celtic Hand Fasting Ceremony Sand Key Park Wedding.

New Year’s Eve Clearwater Beach Wedding Ceremony

New Year’s Eve Clearwater Beach Wedding Ceremony

Steve contacted me about performing his wedding on Dec 31, 2014. He was traveling to Florida with his fiancé and their daughters from Illinois to visit family members in Ocala. While on vacation they wanted to get married. Steve wanted everything to be just right for their wedding. He had never been married and wanted to plan a nice wedding with family and a few friends. He inquired about our wedding packages and asked me if we had, “one of those things you stand under.” Hehe! Too funny! I asked him if he meant an arbor or an arch and he said “yeah, yeah that’s what I mean.” I directed him to our website and showed him the Clearwater Beach Specials that we offer. It sounded just like what he wanted. The arbor, photographer, and table and clothe for a sand ceremony. He had us add 10 folding chairs, a video, and music. He was very excited about having put together the package and that I was able to accommodate him for his New Year’s Eve Day Clearwater Beach Wedding Ceremony.

December 31 was a chilly day on Clearwater Beach. When Steve arrived he had some flowers to decorate the bottom of the arbor.

Amber walked down the beach to the instrumental version of 1000 years . Their three daughters were in the wedding; the baby was pulled in a wagon.

George Sr. took photos and video for Steve & Amber. After the ceremony while George was taking photos I spoke to Steve’s Grandmother who was so happy for them. She told me that Steve & Amber had been together since they were 15 years old. They own a house, he is a hard worker, has a good job, and they have their three daughters. Steve had told his Grandmother that the only thing they were missing was marriage. She was so proud of him in putting together a beautiful Clearwater Beach Wedding Ceremony. It was something he really wanted to do. Amber held back tears as the vows were recited. They are a great couple and I had a wonderful family with them.

They were so pleased and thankful. Steve said our service was beyond what he ever expected. They would be staying in Florida until the end of the week before heading back to cold Illinois.

Redington Beach Florida Wedding

Redington Beach Florida Wedding

News

Jackie and Jerry were travelling to Florida from Indiana to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with her parents. Her parents had a timeshare unit at Redington Ambassador Resorts on the beach. Jackie and Jerry thought it would be great to have a Redington Beach Florida Wedding, be with her parents, and spend Thanksgiving together. When Jackie called I suggested a package with photographer and officiant. She happily said, How easy! Do I need to do anything else?” I let her know she would just need to get their Florida Marriage License when she arrived, and be safe driving to Florida!

The wedding was on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. It was rather chilly day so they decided to have the wedding on the balcony at the condo where they were staying. She was concerned about her parents being out in the cold on the beach. The balcony had a gorgeous ocean view.
Jackie’s parents were very pleased that they decided to have the wedding while visiting with them over the holiday.

After the ceremony George Sr. took photos in the condo and suggested to Jackie and Jerry that they go out to the beach for a few more photos. The wind had died down and it was actually pretty nice out on the beach.

When we named our business “A Beautiful Wedding In Florida” little did we realize just how many absolutely beautiful wedding locations that are available to have wedding ceremonies at in Florida. I performed a wedding on Friday night for Amanda and Travis at another gorgeous location,  Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach.  The wedding was on the patio on the 16th floor of the resort. It overlooked all of Clearwater Beach and surrounding areas.  A beautiful blue sky and a light breeze made it the ideal evening for a wedding.

Soft music was played by a harpist as guests were being seated. Looking at the sky and hearing the soft music was like we were in heaven.

Travis looked very handsome in his gray suit with lavender boutonniere.  Amanda looked so pretty as she was walked down the aisle by her father. She carried a beautiful bouquet of brilliant orange roses with some white and lavender flowers mixed in. She wore a white dress with off the shoulders neckline and just a small gem stone necklace.

After ceremony guest were invited to reception at the Hyatt Regency.

Amanda and Travis thanked me so much for performing such a beautiful ceremony.

Tampa Halloween Weddings

News

I’ve officiated a number of weddings on Halloween.  A Halloween wedding can be fun and something most guest will always remember. I was asked to officiate a wedding where everyone was in costume, including me being dressed as Elvis Presley to perform the wedding. The wedding was at their home. The bride wore an elegant black dress and groom wore an old fashion type of military uniform white knickers with a blue jacket and gold trimming. They had some gothic wording in the vow their piece and had their children in costumes participating in the ceremony.  They had spider cupcakes, spooky music, and punch made with dry ice looking like a witches brew. Spooky music was played throughout the house and everything was decorated for a fun Halloween party wedding.

If you prefer not to be spooky for your Halloween wedding how about something more elegant. A costume ball or a masquerade ball. You can arrive at your wedding in a hearse instead of a traditional limo.

You can make some real cool invitations.  Have your wedding rings in a Death Do Us Part Box.

So many fun things and ideas can be centered around Halloween weddings. Pumpkins for center pieces, black flowers, eyeball ice cubes, skeleton cookies or how about  a bloody cake being cut with an ax….just to name a few.

Ana Maria Island Destination Wedding

Ana Maria Island Destination Wedding

News

Christopher contacted me about officiating his Ana Maria Island destination wedding. The wedding was going to be at the Sand Bar restaurant in Ana Maria Island. Christopher and Megan would be travelling from New York for the wedding.

Christopher corresponded with me in preparing the ceremony and I helped him with a number of  questions and concerns. A week before the ceremony he e-mailed me asking if I thought he should switch the time from 4 pm to closer to sunset. He was concerned that it would be too hot at 4 pm. Not being from Florida that hadn’t been a concern of his when he started planning the wedding. I let him know that their ceremony wasn’t that long and suggested that they have some paper fans and perhaps a bucket with cold bottled water for guest if he was concerned about the heat. He decided to keep the time at 4 pm and fortunately he did, because we had heavy thunderstorms shortly after the wedding ceremony. Ellida, my associate, preformed their Ana Maria Island destination wedding ceremony and note that they actually had a nice breeze under the trees where the wedding was.

The wedding party arrived in a limo provided by Longboat Limousine.  The best man, Paul, escorted the mothers and then walked down with the Maid of Honor, Jennifer.  The ring bearer was their 10 year old son, Jackson. Megan was a beautiful bride. She carried a gorgeous bouquet of white and pink flowers and looked stunning.  Guitar music played before, during, and after the ceremony. Christopher and Meghan were very emotional during the ceremony. It was a beautiful wedding.

Christopher e-mailed me on Monday saying:  “Thank you, Charmaine. Ellida was great. Thanks for all the help and advice, it was a relief to come to trust someone as a source of good information, and I’m glad we found you.”
