Ways to Use Rose Petals at your Wedding Ceremony

Ways to Use Rose Petals at your Wedding Ceremony

You want to use rose petals at your wedding ceremony but not sure how. Check out our favorite ways to use rose petals at your wedding ceremony!

Whether it be on the beach, park, venue, or elsewhere rose petals can be incorporated into your wedding ceremony. We’ve used rose petals to make a heart, down the aisle, lining the aisle, circle, accent petals around an arbor, and much more! Here are some different rose petal options to consider for your wedding ceremony.

Fresh mixed colored rose petals

Rose petal heart ideas

A rose petal heart can have mixed colored petals or a solid color. We always use fresh petals on the beach or on the grass because the artificial petals easily get blown away into the ocean and all around the park. Fake rose pedals need to be picked up, which is super annoying, and are are harmful to the environment.

You can do a pretty flower heart with artificial flowers that are strung together. This is always a good option on a windy day or for a grass location. The string of flowers can easily be picked up and secured into the ground.

A mound style heart in the sand with fresh rose petals in the center of the heart is a very pretty idea to consider. The heart can be accented with tiki torches and greenery with flowers at the end of the tiki torch posts or shepherds hooks with hanging lanterns or flower balls.

How about a circular ceremony with rose petal heart in the center of the circle! We love this setup because all of your guests are truly around you. Having a rose heart in the middle of the circle gives the ceremony a beautiful pop of color.

Lining the aisle

At the beach, park, or inside venue adding rose pedals to line the aisle is a great touch. Adds just a pop of color and really pulls the look together. Here are a few pictures of wedding ceremonies we’ve done with fresh and artificial flowers lining the aisle.

If a heart is not your thing you can make the flower petals into another shape. We think it’d be neat to have a circle of rose pedals for the couple to stand inside showing their love will go on forever. Another idea we had was to make an infinity sign out of pedals!

Down the aisle

The traditional rose pedals down the aisle is always a great look! Keep in mind if you are having an outdoor wedding ceremony and use artificial rose pedals you need to pick them up…and that’s not easy or fun.

Shapes down the aisle

If you want to get real creative use flower pedals and make shapes down the aisle. This is a wedding Charmaine officiated at the Kapok Tree in Clearwater Florida. If you create a flower design in the aisle you need to make sure to block the inside chairs (see how they did it hear with fabric) so guests enter into their seats from the outside in….and don’t mess up the design. We can do these designs or you can have your florist or coordinator do it.

50 Year Surprise Vow Renewal Ceremony Palm Harbor

50 Year Surprise Vow Renewal Ceremony Palm Harbor

Phillip and Debbie were having a 50 year wedding anniversary party at the Lucky Dill in Palm Harbor on August 29th. Their good friend’s Louis and Helene from Las Vegas were coming to Florida to attend the party and wanted to give them a special vow renewal ceremony gift….and that’s where I come into the picture. Louis and Helene hired me to perform a surprise vow renewal ceremony at Phillip and Debbie’s anniversary party.

50 Year Surprise Vow Renewal Ceremony Palm Harbor

Phillip and Debbie’s friends arranged a 50 Year Surprise Vow Renewal Ceremony Palm Harbor at The Lucky Dill.

When I arrived at the Lucky Dill I went into the room where the party was being held. Family and friends were socializing with one another. Nobody knew about the surprise. I asked the hostess at Lucky Dill if she could describe Phillip and Debbie to me so I knew who they were when I went in.  As soon as I recognized who they were I loudly asked if they were Phillip and Debbie. When they said, “yes” I asked all the other guest if I could have their attention. I said to Phillip and Debbie, “your good friends Louis and Helene shared with me a special occasion that you are celebrating here today and asked me here to perform a vow renewal ceremony celebrating your 50 year wedding anniversary.” They were so so surprised!  We gathered everyone together and I performed the vow renewal ceremony.  As I performed the ceremony and was reading the vows “Say I love you every day. I remind you that marriage is a precious gift, a lifelong dedication to love and a daily challenge to love one another more fully and more freely.” Debbie had tears in her eyes right from the beginning and I could see that Phillip was close to tears also. I could see the love they still have for each other just as they did 50 years ago when they were married. I could see them reflecting on their marriage journey as they looked in on another’s eyes.

Phillip and Debbie were so surprised with their 50 year vow renewal ceremony Palm Harbor. I brought our “We still do” sign so they could take some pictures with it. What a wonderful celebration to be a part of!

Phillip and Debbie were so please and surprised. They asked me to sign their photo that they were having all of the guest were sign and take a photo with them.  Louis and Helene repeatedly thanked me as did Phillip and Debbie. It was really fun and such an honor to be a part of their celebration.

Phillip and Debbie celebrated 50 years of marriage on 8/29/15. I had the privilege of officiating their 50 year surprise vow renewal ceremony Palm Harbor.

August 29 is the actual day that they were married 50 years ago! Dinner and party continued after the ceremony. Congratulations to Phillip and Debbie were extended by all guest. What a wonderful couple and wonderful friends to arrange such a kind surprise!

Simple Palm Harbor Wedding Ceremonies

I hear quite often “I can’t afford to get married right now.” What’s to afford? Yes, you do have to get a marriage license, but everything else can be affordable. Maybe not elaborate, but affordable. Especially here in Florida. We have so many beautiful parks, beaches, gardens and even backyards that are great places for a wedding that have minimal cost involved. The main focus is to be married isn’t it?!

This past weekend, I performed a wedding on Saturday for Malania and Jimmy at their home in New Port Richey. They have been together for over five years and wanted to be married. A few friends and family members were guest. They kept it simple. There were cupcakes and champagne and everyone was just enjoying being together with the select people that were invited. I took a few photos for them with their camera and they were very happy.

Later in the day, I performed a ceremony for Penny and Stanley at Honeymoon Island in Dunedin. They also kept it simple. They had the beauty of the beach and had friends take photos for them. They were going out together with friends after the ceremony, but hadn’t made any plans on where.

The brides for both weddings didn’t wear wedding gowns. They did both wear smiles and I could see the genuine love they have for their now spouses.

Golf Tee Wedding Ceremony at Innisbrook Golf Resort

Golf Tee Wedding Ceremony at Innisbrook Golf Resort

Couples are always coming up with new ideas that they would like for their wedding ceremony. Jacklyn asked me if I could help her prepare a golf tee ceremony for her wedding ceremony at Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor. Jacklyn and Scott’s wedding ceremony at Innisbrook Golf Resort was going to be on Saturday, October 18th.  During the ceremony they both wanted to simultaneously take a golf shot on the first tee. I sent her some vow pieces and put together a golf tee ceremony for them. She was delighted with the words and the way it was put together. For the golf tee part of the wedding ceremony, I would say, “Jacklyn and Scott will not be commemorating their marriage through the celebration of a golf shot ceremony. Scott and Jacklyn will simultaneously take a shot on this first tee. Each shot represents Scott and Jacklyn as individuals. The shots they take will be the first of many shots that will be taken throughout their marriage. Scott and Jacklyn please take your first shots. May all the shots you encounter together bring you a lifetime of love and happiness together.”  They would then both take their shots and we would continued with the ceremony.

The wedding was this past Saturday and it couldn’t have had a more beautiful day weather wise.

As guest and bridal party were walking in James Everett Bagpipes played the bagpipes. The bagpipes played such pretty tunes just adding to the atmosphere of a beautiful wedding.

Scott wore a black suit with a lime green tie with a white floral boutonniere and black paten leather sneakers. I’s day he had an unfair advantage on the golf course as Jacklyn had healed shoes on. Hah! The groomsmen also had a lime green ties with grey suits. The lime green color looked so nice with all the golf course green colors surrounding them. The bridesmaids wore long black gowns and carried flowers white and lime green. Jacklyn had the most gorgeous bouquet. The flowers were arranged by Events in Bloom. Jacklyn looked so beautiful. It was hard for Scott to hold back the tears. They both said very meaningful words to each other for their vows. After the ceremony, I was complimented by so many guest on how well the ceremony went. Congratulations, Scott and Jacklyn! I wish you many more amazing “shots” together!

Palm Harbor Innisbrook Wedding

Palm Harbor Innisbrook Wedding

On Friday, October 3rd George Jr. officiated Morgan and Zac’s Palm Harbor Innisbrook wedding. Innisbrook offers a beautiful outdoor location for wedding ceremonies, as well as, inside reception area. George Jr. had a lot of fun officiating Zac and Morgan’s wedding. The day before the wedding they hired George to attend the rehearsal and help them run through a couple practices. This made the day-of ceremony go very smoothly.

Instead of the traditional “I do” vows, Zac and Morgan, requested George Jr. read:

“Zac, Do you promise to pick up your clothes and take out the trash? ”

“Morgan, Do you promise to not get mad when he doesn’t pick up the clothes and take out the trash?”

Haha too funny….and too true! The weather in Florida during this time of year is gorgeous. We are so happy that Zac and Morgan had a beautiful Palm Harbor Innisbrook Wedding and we loved being a part of it! Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Lobitz!!!!

Palm Harbor Officiant attends Weddings on Water Bridal Showcase

On Sunday I participated as a Palm Harbor Officiant vendor at The Weddings on Water Bridal Showcase event at Bon Appetit in Dunedin. What a great event!! I had never participated in one of these events and I was glad I did.

Me and my table representing A Beautiful Wedding in Florida Palm Harbor Officiant Services and More!

I met a number of brides, family members, and got to meet a number of local vendors. Over 30 vendors had their tables setup displaying their products or wedding services. Prizes were given away throughout the event. Most vendors had a prize to be drawn and the winner had to be present to win. Many attendees wanted to stick around for the drawings so a constant flow of attendees continued to inquire at vendor tables about products and services they offered. A number of great wedding prizes were being given away. The grand prize was a $2500 towards a Bon Appetit wedding.  Bon Appetit provided D’Oeuvrs  and champagne for guest to enjoy as they visited the vendor tables.

I was next to Photo Bot Events. Photo Booths are such a fun entertainment wedding idea. Wedding guest can put on hats, funny glasses, wigs or a number of other get ups that they have and have their pictures taken. Photo Bots had guest putting on props and taking pictures. They even got me on one!!

Having fun with the Photo Bot team!

I finally got to meet Desiree Chambelin who is the owner of Chantilly Cakes. Her cakes are at so many of the weddings I’ve officiated at. I never get to taste them. She had samples so of course I had to try them out. They are as good tasting as they are good looking. They are now open in Palm Harbor.

Harp by Victoria was playing soft comforting music on her harp as guest were arriving.

Need invitations made, cards, centerpiece ideas, monograms, logo ideas Kathy Davenport with Up Your Sales is a local vendor with some great designs and products.

Photo Bots was on one side of my table and Party Doctor Productions DJ Service on the other side. Party Doctor played music, and did all the prize drawings. Attendees could request songs by texting or by just letting them know what they wanted to hear. They were so entertaining at the bridal show I could only imagine that they would have guest dancing and well entertained at a wedding.

As a Palm Harbor officiant service, we often get asked about other products services, and ideas for different wedding things. The show was a great way for me to get to know other vendors and the services they offer. The show was not only great for attendees to get wedding ideas, but it was a great way for me to see wedding ideas that I can offer and suggest to brides, couples or anyone needing so many of these services and products. A Beautiful Wedding In Florida Palm Harbor, Dunedin & Tallahassee offer wedding packages and we can also share a number of ideas and services that you may be considering for your wedding.
